SB 3159  RELATING TO THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENTGOH,W
        AM
        CORPORATION OF HAWAII
        Requires the housing and community development
        corporation of Hawaii to adopt the landlord-tenant
        code.  (Tam)


        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.


Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies of their
testimony to the committee clerk, Room 220, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

         DECISION MAKING ON THE FOLLOWING MEASURES

SB 2104  RELATING TO FINANCING OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING  GOH,CPN
        Requires financial institutions to re-finance or
        restructure a first mortgage loan without
        requalification when the prevailing interest rate is
        at least 1.5% below the mortgagor's current interest
        rate.  (Tam)

SB 2386  AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION GOH,WAM
        BONDS AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE 
        RENOVATION OF STATE OWNED PUBLIC HOUSING
        Authorizes the issuance of $20 million in general
        obligation bonds to raise funds for renovation of
        state owned public housing.  (Tam)

SB 2576  RELATING TO STATE OWNED PUBLIC HOUSING      GOH,WAM
        Creates statewide tenant advisory board and adds
        position for tenant representative on board of housing
        and community development corporation of Hawaii.

SB 2598  RELATING TO HOUSING                         GOH,WAM
        Authorizes $10,000,000 in G.O. Bonds and appropriates
        this sum to the Rental Housing Trust Fund.

SB 2471  RELATING TO GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY       GOH/LRE,WAM
        Requires the attorney general and the director of
        labor and industrial relations to install employer
        hotlines to the child support enforcement agency and
        the unemployment office, respectively, for employer-
        only access.

SB 2509  RELATING TO PROCUREMENT PRACTICES       GOH/LRE,WAM
        Requires pruchases under contracting law to be awarded
        to vendors who pay prevailing wages.

SB 2258  RELATING TO PUBLIC CONTRACTS            LRE/GOH,WAM
        Requires contractors under a public contract to
        provide their employees with specified minimum wages
        and days off.  Provides for enforcement and penalties.
        Exempts nonprofit institutions whose chief executive
        officers earn wages at a specified level.

SB 2937  RELATING TO THE OPERATIONS OF CORRECTIONAL JDC/GOH,WAM
       FACILITIES
        Authorizes the Department to enter into contracts with
        qualified private entities for service appropriate and

 
        necessary to operate and staff new in-state
        correctional facilities.
